Volcano Turrialba, a Costa Rican Landscape by Full Moon, is an original miniature painting.
Rhia enjoyed this fantastic view all year round during her stay in Costa Rica. Her house overlooked the Central Valley with a 270-degree view towards volcanoes Poas, Barva, Irazu, Turrialba, and on the left to the mountain range named Escazu.
Can you imagine having such a view every evening by sitting on the porch and seeing the sea of lights above and below? Up in the sky were the moon and stars. The best way to see these was by covering all of the lights from below, from San Jose and its satellites, like Cartago, Alajuela, Heredia, Paraiso, and Escazu. It was a breathtaking view.
Rhia has painted the small gem on a handmade, fine grain, Belgian linen canvas glued to an archival quality composite board. The canvas is four times universal primed. The artist has created her artwork using professional-grade acrylics and protected the painting against air pollution and UV radiation with high-quality MSA varnish from Golden.
